If you are interested in joining the Chorus you will be placed in one of four voice parts – tenor, lead, baritone or bass. You will be introduced to your Section Coordinator who will assist you in orientation over the next few weeks.
The Chorus will provide you with music and learning CDs to take home. You will have six weeks to learn two songs and will then have your final audition, singing along with an experienced quartet to help you. During the six weeks you will have opportunities to practice the audition songs singing with the whole chorus or smaller groups. The audition identifies potential at this stage – a wrong note will not rule you out. You do not need to read music or have a trained singing voice but you must be able to sing in tune.
Training is provided in vocal, breathing and visual performance skills.
After you've passed your final audition you will be ‘sung in’ and officially welcomed into the chorus – this is a wonderful experience!
