With a chorus membership of over 130 active singers and a repertoire that spans a wide range of musical genres, the Christchurch City Chorus can offer large, medium and small sized performance groups to suit a variety of needs. In the past year the chorus has provided singers for corporate and club events, celebration and end of year parties, funerals, rest homes, a church service, an ANZAC concert, foodmarkets, and Christmas events.
Theme Packages Given sufficient time and information about your event a theme package can be developed. For example, a 30 minute package of poetry and song was written for the Cat Fanciers’ annual dinner, and “The Cat Package” has since been well received elsewhere. A 15 minute patriotic package that was developed for our performance at Carnegie Hall, is also available. Christmas Events The chorus has a large repertoire of Christmas songs and carols , and in their colourful Christmas costumes large and small chorus ensembles perform each year at concerts, Christmas and mid-winter Christmas parties, Christmas Houses, malls, rest homes, cocktail parties, dinners, clubs, community events and charity events. Please contact us as early as possible about these, because there is a lot of demand for groups at this time of year. Help us to Help You Contact our Performance Coordinator to discuss your specific needs. The earlier you can do this, the more likely we are to be able to meet them. The Performance Coordinator would like to know:
Costs Prices will vary according to the type and duration of the performance, size of performance group, specific programme requests, and other variables. This can be discussed with the Performance Coordinator. As a guideline, the base price for a small group with a short programme may begin at $200 plus GST. Larger groups will cost more, and extras such as transport of risers, will be added on a cost recover basis. Registered quartets set their own fees. Each year the chorus undertakes a number of low cost, no cost or payment by donation performances as a community service. If you are a non profit organisation, charity or similar, please approach the Performance Coordinator to discuss this. |
